Dr. Amir Akhavan earned his B.A. in Psychology with honors from the University of California, Irvine in 2009. Drawn to both healthcare and innovation, he left the Golden State for the Sunshine State to pursue dentistry at Nova Southeastern University, where he graduated with honors in 2014. He was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) honor society and elected by his peers as president of the Student Government Association, earning recognition for his leadership and dedication.
Dr. Akhavan went on to complete his orthodontic residency and earn a Master’s in Oral Biology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2017. He later served as President of the Alachua County Dental Association (2022–2023), continuing his commitment to advancing the dental profession through local leadership and service.

Outside the office, Dr. Akhavan enjoys spending time with his family and two beloved dogs, a Weimaraner named Gus and a rescue named Fido. He’s an avid traveler, passionate foodie, and skilled home chef—especially when cooking sous-vide. He also enjoys meditation and listening to audiobooks on psychology, human behavior, business, and leadership.
